some things we love about xavier

 - we love that he still does things that he did when he was first born. when he is hungry he always puts his fists up to his mouth, roots, and makes grunting noises. sometimes its a little hard to feed him, i have to pull his hands away. its too funny!

 - we love that he is so talkative!

 - we love that his eyes get huge when we go into a room that's a little darker than the previous room.

 - we love how animated xavier is. he makes the best faces!

 - we love that he is pretty much always happy! its very rare that he is crabby.

 - we love the color of his eyes.

 - we love that he tries to talk when he is eating.

 - we love how he makes us feel.

 - we love his chubiness.

 - we love that he loves when we make noises with our mouth.

 - we love that he is a cuddle bug.

 - we love his ears and the hair on them.

 - we love that he makes us smile.

 - we love the way he smiles.

 - we love that one time he laughed when we put him in the bath.

 - we love the feel of him in our arms.

we love everything about xavier - these are just specifics to name! =)

xavier is 3 months old!

stats at 2 months:

weight: 13 lbs 14 ozs
height: 24 inches

stats at 3 months:

weight: 16 lbs
height: 25 inches

wow. xavier is certainly growing up! it seems like not too long ago ( i know a month isnt that long, but im talking like last week) i wrote xavier's 2 month blog. time does fly when you are having fun! xavier is just amazing.

here we go!

*shortly after xavier turned 2 months old he started recognizing when he is going to be fed. he starts smiling all big and gets super happy! its cute!

*xavier can roll over, and not just to one side, to both from his tummy to back!

*he's started showing us the pouty lip. cant help but think its cute! haha

*xavier has started pulling his toys from his play mat and putting them in his mouth.

*he likes to suck on his fist.

*he sleeps about 5 hrs at a time during the night - sometimes longer.

*xavier likes when we sing to him.

*he isnt really a morning person. he will whine and cry a little when he is waking up but once he is awake he is bright eyed and bushy tailed! =D

*xavier really has us wrapped around his tiny little finger. sometimes we have to be holding him while standing. if we sit down he starts to cry and stops as soon as we stand again. he also knows that when he is crying in his swing or whatever, that when i get up, i am going to get him. he stops crying and starts smiling! haha

*drooling has begun along with spit bubbles, maybe teething is in his near future?

*xavier loves to feel things. he likes a couple of his super soft blankets and will pull them up to his face to feel them.

xavier is such a fun little guy to be around. i love learning new things about him everyday!

xavier's baptism

xavier got baptized today. he really should have been baptized long before now, but we didnt know where a traditional catholic church was here in germany. finally my dad got in touch with the bishop who gave us contact information for a priest here. i started talking to him over email and he told me about a church here in stuttgart! i was pretty shocked that there was one here and its only like 15 minutes away! its awesome! last week was our first time going there. its this little chapel with about 15-20 members. its super tiny. of course, we are the only americans and everything is in german and latin so its kind of tough. well, not the latin part because i can follow the mass fine, but the sermon and everything else is in german. anyway, so we talked to the priest last week about getting xavier baptized and he set it up for today!

we got there at 3:30pm, a half hour before mass started. the ceremony started pretty much right away. it took about 20 or so minutes. when the priest was speaking german he was rolling his "r's" and xavier really liked that. he was glued to him and kept smiling. it was cute! the beginning part is 3 exorcisms - during that part xavier spit up twice. i didnt think of this but jeremy told me after that he kept thinking of "the exorcist". hahahaha xavier did pretty good throughout the ceremony, he liked the salt on his tongue. he started crying when the priest was making the sign of the cross with the oils on him so i took over and held him from then on. he didnt even start crying when the holy water was being poured over his head! 

mass was after the ceremony and then we came home.

everyone there is so nice, even though they dont know english and we dont know german - they just act so kind towards us. 

next weekend, the 31st, is when we are having the celebration of his baptism. i am excited! =)

rollin', rollin', rollin'.....

today i thought i would give xavier a little tummy time. it never really lasts long but i figured i should do it anyway.

i set him down and within a minute or so he had rolled over!! he went from tummy to back from his left side. i was in shock! i put him back on his tummy and he did it again. i was so happy and shocked that he actually rolled over. i was videoing him and i put him back down and he rolled over to the other side - and did a couple more times to that side!!! again, i was in shock! hahaha i am so proud of our little boy.

he's wearing yellow, he must be a girl!

since when did yellow not become neutral and just become a color for girls? xavier has only worn yellow out in public 2 times and both of those times he has been called a girl!

its pretty ridiculous because my little man CLEARLY looks like a little man!

he must REALLY love his bath!

last night when we were putting xavier in the bath, we just barely touched his feet to the water and he laughed! not like a little laugh, it was a pretty big laugh. it was just so darn cute. that was the first time we actually heard a big laugh when he wasnt sleeping!

xavier's doctor appointment

well everything went ok(i guess) with xavier's doctor appointment for his lymph nodes. he did an ultrasound on all of them and he said that one was actually a harmless cyst and that he may have it for the rest of his life. he said that if it gets red and hot then its infected and will have to be removed - but that is unlikely. he doesnt know why his nodes are swollen though since he hasnt and doesnt have an infection anywhere.

thats it. he wasnt really good with english so i couldnt ask him a ton of questions but he told me they werent tumors and that he should be fine. but you better believe that if they are still swollen in a month i am taking him back.

im nervous

at the end of may we found a swollen lymph node behind xavier's right ear. it wasnt very big, but it was big enough to feel. everywhere online said that its probably because of his baby acne and cradle cap - a lot of people had the same thing with their newborns. so we werent too concerned. the baby acne got pretty bad, especially on his ears and neck and it looked different than on his face and there was a swollen lymph node behind his left ear now. i made an appt for him to be seen by a doctor.

i took him in the beginning of june and he was seen by a doctor, but not his regular pediatrician that said that they were swollen because of the baby acne and cradle cap and that will go away on its own and they should go back to normal size. i made sure to ask a ton of questions and he assured me that everything was fine and told me about symptoms to look out for that would merit a trip to the ER(german).

here it is almost middle of july and the one behind his right has grown a little bit, the one behind is left is the same and he has 2 more towards the back of his head that are swollen. at his 2 month appt i told his pediatrician about it and she felt them and said that i needed to make an appt with a german pediatrician to have an ultrasound done on them. the appointment is tomorrow.

i really hope its nothing major and its still because of the lingering cradle cap. it makes me worry because 1 is normal, but 4?? oh and i also have to go by myself. jeremy isnt getting off work early to go with me. =( please pray its nothing major.

1st 4th of July

so our first 4th of july as a family wasnt too exciting. i woke up around 5am to feed xavier and i was dozing off and was suddenly awoken by a crash of thunder! the sky was orange from the sunrise so it made it very weird feeling. i am not a huge fan of storms so i woke jeremy up to come sit out in the living room with me. he had to go outside though to roll up the windows in our car. poor guy. first he gets woke up super early by his scaredy cat wife and then he has to go outside in the pouring rain! after i fed xavier we both fell asleep for a couple more hours. jeremy played video games. i woke up around 11 i think and puttsed around for a while. we were  contemplating whether or not we wanted to go to the whole 4th of july thing on one of the other bases. since it had rained a lot i wasnt a big fan of trying to  maneuver a stroller onto a soggy football field. we finally decided we werent going to go. instead we met up with the hernandez's and went to a bbq. the bbq didnt last long outside because it started to rain, and hard! it was crazy. we all went inside and ate and chilled there for a bit. we left there and went to the hernandez's house and jeremy played super mario galaxy 2 with their son. they had fun. we came home and just chilled for the rest of the night. no fireworks, nothing. i felt kind of bad. i wanted to be in america so bad that day. oh well. maybe next year's will be better.

jeremy's new uniform

the navy got new cami uniforms - blue camouflage. at first, before you could buy them, i wasnt all that impressed with them. but as time went on i started liking them more and more. now they are going to be required and so jeremy bought his and we finally got the last of them so we could get all of the patches sewn on. when xavier had his newborn photos taken i was really hoping that he had them so we could get this photo with the blue instead of the green:
