xavier is 4 months old!

stats at 3 months:

weight: 16 lbs
height: 25 inches

stats at 4 months:

weight: 17 lbs 6.5 ozs
height: 26 inches

this past month has been a pretty busy one. i think it went by really fast. jeremy left for almost 2 weeks total and that was kind of hard on both me and xavier. i really think xavier knew that his dad was gone. we have been getting out more. AND i have started getting really close with a couple of neighbors in my building. its really nice to finally have some friends! i still want to find someone that has a baby around the same age so xavier can get socialized, so far - no luck. anyway, here is what xavier has been up to this past month!

* xavier can almost roll over from his back to his stomach. he gets to his side and thats it.

*he has started getting upset if i leave the room. its kind of hard to do things with a screaming baby.

*xavier is still drooling a lot, rubbing his face like something is bothering him, and chewing on anything he can get his hands on  - even his own hands! i think he is teething hardcore.

*he laughs a lot. its so so so stinkin' cute!

*when we sing to xavier or when we are listening to music, xavier sings. i know what you are thinking. ("yeah right!") but he coos. and its not his normal talking, its different.

*xavier is most definitely attached to sleeping in our bed. i have tried putting him in his crib or pack n play and he wont fall asleep. but as soon as he is in our bed, he falls right asleep.

*xavier LOVES the song "dynamite". but we listen to the goot cover of it, not the original. if he is crying, all we have to do is play that song and he stops.

*he can almost sleep through the night. almost there!

xavier changes so much every single day. we love him to the fullest!!

the cutest little laughs

yesterday i was hanging out with my friends samara and april. samara has a new corgi puppy, button, and april has 2 big dogs, jade and clover. button was playing with clover and barking and being all cute and xavier thought it was the funniest thing. he was cracking up. and not just laughs - he really got into it and was throwing his head back while laughing. it was the cutest thing. ever.  i just couldnt get over how cute it was and was telling jeremy and roberta about it. then today i went over to samaras house and xavier was laughing again, but now he was laughing at samara just talking. hahahaa then button started barking and xavier laughed again. then samara made a barking noise and xavier thought that was funny. we kept doing it. haha

xavier is such a fun little guy to be around and he always brings a smile to my face. i love him SO much!

just the two of us...

i am going to get a taste of what its like to be a single mother. i am not really looking forward to it, but i think i will be ok.

tomorrow jeremy leaves to italy for 4 days. i think i would be fine with that, BUT, he is leaving on monday to go back to the states for a week to be with his family following the loss of grandma joanne. i am really happy that he is going because roberta really needs him, but i am sad that i am going to be alone.

xavier has been sleeping so bad these last couple of days. im pretty sure, but can be wrong, that he is teething. he has a lot of signs that lead me to believe he is, but im not sure. i really hope it doesnt last long. last night we didnt get to sleep until after 1am and then he woke up at 5:30am. in between he was waking up as well. its going to be hard to not get the help when jeremy would be home.

all i can say, is wish me luck! haha

stork bites and angel kisses???

when xavier was born we noticed he had red marks one on each of his eyelids and a pretty big one on the back of the neck. there are other couple of small ones - on his forehead and there is actually one sort of shaped like a heart on the back of the neck.

people would mention that they were just "stork bites" and that they would go away after a couple of months. we were curious about them so today i looked online to see what they were and they said that they are vascular birth marks - where blood vessels accumulate under the base of the skin. the ones on his eyelids are "angel kisses" and the ones on the back of his neck are "stork bites". the "angel kisses" should be gone by the time he is 2 and the "stork bites" he might have for a long time. we aren't bothered by them because he is just so stinkin adorable, we dont really even notice them anymore. just curious. =)

joanne

yesterday, jeremy's grandma passed away. roberta, auntie mar, and barney were by her side. this is very heartbreaking. i want to share my last visit with joanne.

before we moved to germany josh, alyson, and eli were coming to stay with us for a couple of days. the day they came i got home late because after work i had a root canal done. i pulled into the garage and jeremy came out to greet me and informed me that grandma was also there. i was surprised because no one told us she was coming too, but i was happy that we get to see her. i also kind of started to panic. i was wondering if we had enough food, where she would sleep and if my house was clean enough. of course, grandma was totally fine with just sleeping on the couch.

i baked 2 loaves of zucchini bread before they got there and by the time they left, the 2 loaves were gone. grandma pretty much devoured most of it. it was really funny. i would clean up the kitchen before we went to bed and when i woke up in the morning i would find crumbs all over the counter and floor from where she got up and ate more. i was a little irritated because i had just cleaned up the night before only to wake up to have to clean up again. but the fact that grandma enjoyed the bread so much, made me happy!

when we told grandma what we were having for dinner one of the nights she said that she doesnt eat meat because she was vegan. then when we cooked dinner that night she ate the meat. we said something to her about it and she said that she is only a vegan around julia! we found that to be hilarious!

she also said she only drank soy milk and jeremy told her that it was gross. she said that she was getting used to it. well, we had this very delicious, expensive, chocolate milk in the fridge from one of the local creameries and she pretty much drank the whole thing! she loved it a lot!

her and eli fell asleep together.

one of the days we all went to seattle and grandma stayed home. we came back and she told us that she watched the movie "coraline" in 3d - glasses and all. she said she couldnt tell the difference between regular and 3d. =)

she definitely made us laugh when she was visiting. just being around her made my heart smile. i wish i could have been around her more. i only knew her for about 5 years, but it felt like id known her my whole life.

she was an amazing woman and i love hearing stories that everyone tells me about her. she will definitely be missed, but never ever forgotten.

i love you grandma joanne!
